EYE SEE YOU

Eyes are important in my work. The windows of the soul. I couldn't help but wonder if it was possible to translate depth and complexity into textile art. Could I capture the essence of the soul through the medium of yarn? Could I replicate the curves and contours of the eye, its depth and complexity, in thread?

Despite these challenges, I felt the urge to try and spent countless hours working on a design that would do justice to the complexity of the eye. I had to consider not only the use of yarn and the limitations of the machine, but every line, dot and colour choice had to be carefully considered to bring this work of art to life. Every detail, and every element had to be just right to capture the essence of the eye and convey the soul behind it.

Dozens, really dozens of hours went into the design, fabrication and finishing but I am immensely satisfied with the result. I have managed to capture the beauty and complexity of the human eye in textiles.
