Brave
'Soul Searching' is a series about the search for that which makes us human. Our soul. It is an interaction between technology and art.
'Brave' is the most abstract design in the series. Clean, sharp lines, gently deep guy lines and not too much fuss or detail.
It is a strong woman. What you see is what you get. Her eyes say it. No detours but straight to the point. Brave and strong.
For this series, I took an unconventional step by working with an AI-generated portrait. I normally take my inspiration from photos I find on the internet, never with the intention of creating a recognisable representation, but always with a focus on the energy and emotions that I transform into colours, planes and lines.
The series consists of five portraits, based on one AI-generated image. My challenge lay in finding the soul that the AI had missed, with a particular focus on the eyes. These eyes, the mirrors of the soul, are highly detailed. In each work, I try to capture the depth and complexity of human emotions in the eyes.
