Frequently Asked Questions

Every encounter with art raises questions. About materials, techniques, formats or the idea behind them. Here you will find the most frequently asked (practical) questions together. Is your question not listed here? Then contact us directly.

Purchase and availability

All available works can be purchased directly from the website. Click on the picture of a work for more details. If you are interested, you can buy and pay for a work immediately. Of course, it is also possible to view the work in the studio first.

It is possible to reserve a work that Lisette is still working on. Send an e-mail to lisette@steil.studio.

Lisette also creates exclusive custom-made works. A fusion of your wishes and Lisette's unique signature.
As Lisette puts her focus on her own collections, she reserves only a limited number of spots per year for commissions.

Assignments start from €4,500, depending on format and complexity.
Read here more about the possibilities or take contact at for more information.

Framing and finishing

A key difference between a tapestry and a textile painting is the frame.
All works are therefore custom-framed by a professional framer. All frames are made of aluminium with a wood look. The frame border is 0.5 cm and the frame height is between 2.5 and max. 3.5 cm.
Larger works (larger than 100 cm) are also fitted with an additional frame at the back to prevent the work from warping or sagging.

Some works are already listed and immediately available. For other works, it is possible to help decide on the frame. For commissioned works, the choice of frame is of course always by mutual agreement.

Delivery and shipment

Within the Netherlands, works are delivered personally by Lisette. For destinations outside the Netherlands, shipping costs vary per country and also depend on the size of the work purchased. All work is carefully packed for safe transport.
Read here More on Delivery and Shipping.

When a work is immediately available, delivery can take place within 5 working days. Works that still need to be framed have a slightly longer delivery time (maximum 2 weeks). You will be kept informed about this.

Maintenance and sustainability

A work can be easily cleaned with a dry cloth or a soft brush. Avoid moisture and chemical cleaners to keep the materials in optimal condition.

Lisette works with high-quality materials that retain their colour and shape. To keep the colours as intense as possible, it is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

Acoustic effect

The textile works absorb sound and reduce reverberation in a room. This contributes to a warmer and quieter atmosphere, both in a living and working space.
