I have over 20,000 followers on Instagram. After less than two years on LinkedIn, I have over 600 connections.
According to all the LinkedIn experts, I'm doing terribly. Really badly.
But I don't agree with that. I don't collect followers. Or connections.
I prefer to make a genuine connection.
Some people never respond to my posts on social media, but quietly follow me because my work touches them. That's fine too. That's valuable too. That's also a connection.
I meet others online and later also offline. Sometimes this results in a sale or purchase (which is great, of course). But it always leads to a pleasant encounter.
And that is precisely what matters to me.
Not about numbers. Not about quantity.
But for quality.
So… are you watching?
Or are you really watching?
