No alarm clock. Just lazing about. Sitting out on a terrace with friends or relaxing in the garden with a book.
No, I can’t do without thread… And I’ve been working on a new piece for nearly 10 months now. I need 5,500 knotted threads for it!!
Each thread has to be tied off at both ends, so that’s 11,000 times. That’s about 200 hours’ work. I’m getting towards the last few threads, so yes, I work on them every now and then. I can’t help it. It’s also a form of relaxation for me.
But even more relaxing than that. Out in the sunshine. In my lovely green garden (there’s not much colour at the moment because I prune all my butterfly bushes and salvias in mid-July, so that I’ll have another flush of flowers in mid-September).
That’s it. My commissions have really come to a standstill, and when I received an enquiry about buying a piece, I was even able to reply by email: Great. And I’ll get back to you after 8 August as I’ll be on holiday.
Whoop whoop. I’ll get the hang of it.
