Ouch!

Shit. See my finger there at the top left? It shouldn't be there.

This is the third time in four years that I've cut a hole in my fabric. And as you can see, I've tried to fix it, but it's not possible. Not this time. The hole is really too big, and then the spot becomes too fragile and you can see it (you can't, but I can).

So that's two days of preparation and two days of shooting down the drain. Rubbish.

This can happen during shooting. And then my canvas is ruined. Or you cut it wrong or shave off a chunk of wool after gluing it. Or the worst thing (thank God it has never happened, but it is bound to happen again): after my work has been framed by the framer.

So it can happen continuously, really. I can't paint over it. What's gone is gone. And a hole or bite out of it is (often) irreparable.

Shit happens, shall we say.
