Am still recovering.... What a great day I had last Tuesday at VT Wonen's 'Dutch Design Battle'. It was a day full of creativity, where anyone with an idea for an interior product could 'battle' for a chance to bring their design to life.

For a while now, I have had a series of designs lying around. Great designs (even if I say so myself), but not for on the wall. This really needs to be a rug.

The morning began with the judges (Roderick Vos, Studio Ape, Zuiver and more) judging whether your idea was strong enough to advance to the pitch round.
Yoo-hoo! I was overjoyed when they gave me the green light to pitch!

And then there I was, in front of a room full of representatives from some of the most inspiring home furnishing brands (such as Fatboy, FEST, Rug Store, MondiLab, Pol's Potten, HK Living and more) with just one minute to impress.

Can you imagine? Me. The adhd speech waterfall who only has 1 minute? 1 minute to tell it all (and at the same time not accidentally pee your trousers from nerves...).

And guess what? Not one, but TWO companies wanted to work with me! Whoop whoop whoop!!!

Hopefully one of my rugs will be in your home next year! I use a photograph when I create a portrait design. I do not look for likeness as I am concerned with representing the energy, emotion or that particular look.
