SCRIBBLES

What started as a search for the story behind each face, an exercise for my eyes and a study of light and shadow, soon grew into scribble art. This technique is not an accidental choice; scribbles are a way for me to really see a face.

The loose, spontaneous lines give each portrait a unique energy. Sometimes the lines are rough and powerful, sometimes flowing and curling. Each face is a landscape of lines, planes and movement.
It's about capturing that essence, translating what I see into colour and texture for my textile portraits. For me, this is an exercise in seeing and understanding.

I always draw my scribble portraits digitally, based on a reference photo. I am regularly asked if a work from my portfolio is available as a print. That is why I offer them here.

Each portrait is printed on museum-quality Hahnemühle cotton paper, showing off the lines and textures beautifully. Each work is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Print runs are limited to max 5 prints per portrait, with a minimum size of 40 x 60 cm.
