Sometimes a fragment is all you need to see or be seen.

Strong is the second work in my Painted Fragments series, in which I do not show the whole face but only the one fragment in which power concentrates.

You see a look that stays put. Not loud, not dominant, but determined and present.
Strong does not carry softness as a starting point but focus. She does not look past you but straight back through you.

In this series, I opted for sharper contrasts and a tighter structure. The wool is layered like paint, like strokes of a brush across the canvas. There is more tension between light and dark. The warp lines are more precise and cutting, making the look not only visible but also tangible.

Strong is not an expressive statement but a concentrated presence.
A fragment that says enough not to let go.
