Brave was the first work in the series Soul Searching. A design, a look that didn't call for embroidery. Not too many details. A work fully tufted to be grand, intense and present.

It is the most abstract work of the series. Large eyes that look directly at you, coarse surfaces that bring tension, clean-shaven lines that add emphasis to the gaze. There is a power in this work that is gentle and implacable at the same time. A kind of silent intensity.

Some looks take time. Brave is such work. As one client said: "I thought she was so intense at first but now she touches me intensely. I'm starting to love her more and more," It is perhaps a portrait that requires slowing down, getting used to but ultimately touches deeper.

Where other works in the series show more detail or nuance, choose Brave for simplicity and grandeur. The gaze is central, without distractions. Brave gives any space a direct, unmistakable energy. She touches deeper because she hides nothing, and says everything precisely because of that.
