Inspired by the sophistication of tulips, with this work I wanted to explore the interaction between circular shapes, square surfaces and clean lines. By combining the repetition of circles with the powerful contrast between light and dark shades, a subtle harmony of shape, line and colour is created.

This work has no raised dimensions but is rich in textures that I created by shearing and cutting. The balance between sharp, deep lines and soft, rounded shapes adds a new, surprising dimension, making the work come alive in the space.

Although both work, Tulip and Tulips, stem from the same source of inspiration, they each explore a completely different approach to texture, rhythm and material.
