Sometimes you see a look and you know: I have to catch those.
That happened to her.

There is something paradoxical about her: arrogant and innocent at the same time. Tough (don't mess with me) but also vulnerable, almost accessible. That contradiction, that fusion in her, forced me to step out of my comfort zone.

I deliberately chose multiple techniques. Embroidery alone was not enough. I crocheted her hair, worked with faux fur for her collar, which I embroidered stitch by stitch, and let gold sparkle on her cheek. A different balance but it suited her. Even the recycled curtain with its vertical stripes was allowed to speak: an unexpected background that enhanced her presence.

Fusion is more than a face. It is a look. A portrait of opposites coinciding: tough and approachable, soft and bright, old and new. A portrait in which strength and vulnerability come together. A work in which identity need not be fragmented but rather becomes visible when it comes together.
