Sometimes a fragment is all you need to see or be seen.

True is the first work from my new series Painted Fragments: intimate parts of a face that reveal more than a full portrait ever could. Not a framing of the whole story, but its core. A truth that becomes palpable at a glance.

You see a look. You feel the sincerity. 
True She is quiet and present at the same time. She observes without judgement. There is a gentle clarity in her gaze, a kind of inner truth that is inviting. A gaze that does not try to impress but simply is. That is what makes her powerful.

Yarn becomes paint. I build up layers with wool, just as a painter does with paint. As if brushstrokes were being applied to the canvas.
In this work, I deliberately opted for subtle contrasts and gentle transitions, allowing her gaze to almost begin to breathe. The shaving lines cut depth into the surface and draw the eye forward, as if it wants to gently announce itself. Not loudly, but definitely present.
